ENID, Okla. —
A Woodward man was injured early Sunday when he was ejected from a vehicle that overturned on a county road near Arnett.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report stated Anthony Lyons, 24, of Woodward, was taken to Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck and admitted for observation of a head injury, received when he was ejected from the vehicle. He was listed in good condition.
The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. 10 miles east of Arnett in Ellis County.
Lyons was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Justin Morgan, 33, of Laverne.
An OHP report stated a 2012 Ford F550 pickup driven by Morgan was southbound on a county road.
The driver stated he reached down to pick up something and the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right. Morgan overcorrected and the vehicle left the roadway to the left where it rolled two times coming to rest on its wheels.
Two other passengers, Richard Pothorst, 47, of Fargo, and Devin Summerall, 27, of Woodward, also were not injured. Morgan, the driver, was not injured.
The report stated the cause of the accident was exceeding the speed limit.
Seat belts were equipped, but not in use.
