ENID, Okla. — Private pesticide

training program

slated for Nov. 14

A private pesticide training program will be 1-4 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Hoover Building, which is adjacent to the Garfield County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service office on East Oxford.

A private applicator license does not qualify the license holder to perform commercial or non-commercial pesticide application, nor does it allow the private applicator to purchase and/or use restricted use pesticides in or around a residence. This license is required to be renewed every five years.

The showing of this card may be necessary to purchase any restricted-use pesticides. The cost for the material is $15 and may be paid in cash or check payable to OSU Extension.

This session will be led by Roger Gribble, area agronomist, and Rick Nelson, ag educator.

The information presented will familiarize class participants so they will be able to pass the open book test with the required score of 70 percent.

The completed test answer sheet and application form and a $20 payment are to be submitted to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry.

ACA presentation Nov. 11

The Affordable Care Act brought about changes to Medicare that provide new benefits for Medicare recipients.

Anne Roberts, Integris director of legislative affairs, will give a presentation on how the Affordable Care Act impacts seniors at noon Nov. 11 at Oakwood Mall.

The presentation will be near the center court entrance.

Fund set up for the Rev. Danny Marney

Hennessey Ministerial Alliance has set up a fund to help the Rev. Danny Marney, 73, with medical expenses.

The alliance has set up at fund at InterBank to help Marney. Checks can be made out to Hennessey Ministerial Alliance, noting the Danny Marney Fund.

Marney is pastor for First Baptist Church in Waukomis.
