ENID, Okla. —
National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of western and northwest Oklahoma until 10 p.m.
The watch covers 27 counties, including Garfield County, and extends into southwestern Kansas.
Mike Honigsberg, director of Enid and Garfield County Emergency Management, said the main threats from the storm are large hail and damaging winds.
The Oklahoma counties included in the watch are Alfalfa, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Grant, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Major, Noble, Osage, Pawnee, Roger Mills, Tillman, Washita, Woods and Woodward.
