Covington-Douglas Wildcats celebrate Homecoming Week

ENID, Okla. — The Covington-Douglas Wildcats celebrated Homecoming Week Oct. 7-11.

Each day had its own dress-up day. Monday was Pajama Day, Tuesday was Twin Day, Wednesday was Camouflage Day, Thursday was a Twist-in-Time and Friday was Blue and White Day.

These dress-up days counted for a part of the final score in Battle of the Classes Thursday.

Battle of the Classes consisted of six events in which grades 7-12 competed.

First up was the Balloon Stick, followed by the Life Saver Relay, Uniform Relay, Blanket Race and Blind Football Kick.

The junior class came in first; freshmen, 2nd; 8th grade, 3rd; sophomores, 4th; seniors, 5th; and 7th grade, 6th.

Friday was the Homecoming parade, followed by a pep rally. The Covington-Douglas Wildcat Band led the parade.

The Wildcat football players all rode on the fire truck.

The sophomores won the parade contest with the theme “Wildcat Commander.”

The cheerleaders got the school pumped up and ready for the big game.

Coronation was Friday night. Calli Kaiser and Lawrence Kirk won queen and king, followed by the game.

The Wildcats beat the Medford Cardinals 68-32. The game was followed by a dance.


Monday: The junior varsity football team will host the Oklahoma City Patriots, and the 5th-8th football players will host Deer Creel-Lamont.

Tuesday: High School Academics will attend a meet at Pioneer, 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Parent-Teacher Conference, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Thursday: District Stuco, Kingfisher.

Friday: The Wildcat football team will travel to Garber, with game time at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday: The cross country team travels to the state meet.
