ENID, Okla. —
Northern Oklahoma College Enid will host a Community Resource Fair 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24.
“We are proud to host the Community Resource Fair again this year,” NOC President Cheryl Evans said. “This event brings together so many helpful organizations and agencies under one roof. I think it helps raise the public’s awareness of the social resources available within our community.”
Evans said she encourages people to let their family and friends know about the organizations they learn about at the resource fair.
“There are so many wonderful and free services available to the community, yet unfortunately a lot of these resources are underutilized because many people are not aware of them,” Evans said. “I think the Community Resource Fair is a fun way for our community to become more involved with these local organizations.”
Jill Helmar, NOC counselor, emphasized the Resource Fair is for anyone in the community.
“It is our deepest desire to assist the citizens within our service area overcome the various barriers in front of them, and to reach their full potential,” Helmer said. “At the core of the community college mission is an increased opportunity for educational enhancement as well as providing the resources to individuals that help drive the local economy. We are expecting around 20 local and state nonprofit agencies to be represented at the Community Resource Fair.”
The event is free and open to the public, and will be in Montgomery Hall in the Gantz Student Center.
Agencies interested in participating in the resource fair should contact Helmer at (580) 548-2256 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
