POND CREEK, Okla. — A welder is thought to have touched off a fire that destroyed a truck in Pond Creek late Tuesday.

According Pond Creek Fire Chief Josh Stevens, the fire department was summoned at about 10 p.m. and 10 firefighters worked about an hour to put out the burning pickup in a parking lot.

“It wasn’t anything suspicious,” said Josh Stevens, Pond Creek Fire Chief.

It was reported to be an explosion, but no explosions were confirmed, Stevens said.

No nearby buildings were damaged.
