ENID, Okla. —
Open house for McKinley Elementary School has been postponed as teachers put the final touches on their classrooms for the 2013-14 school year.
Construction on the school has been drawing to a close this week, according to school officials. As a result, teachers have not had the time they normally would to prepare their classrooms. They are working hard to ensure their classrooms are ready for learning tomorrow morning, the first day of school.
“We appreciate the dedication of the McKinley Elementary staff,” Superintendent Shawn Hime said. “Construction can be difficult, and they have been very flexible and patient. This evening, they need a few more hours to prepare their classrooms. Tomorrow, they will be ready to greet their students and begin a great school year.”
McKinley parents are invited to spend extra time tomorrow morning visiting their child’s classroom and talking with his or her teacher. Another open house will be scheduled in the future.
