Garfield Country Republican Women scholarship available

ENID, Okla. — Members of Garfield County Republican Women will give a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school girl in Garfield County and planning to attend college in the fall.

The scholarship is open to girls who have attended a public or private high school or who have been home-schooled. Application forms may be obtained from counselors at any of the county high schools or by calling Toni at (580) 233-3788.

Requirements for application correspond to most other scholarship applications: letters of recommendation, academic achievements, transcript, work and community activities, and a one-page typewritten essay question. The essay question this year is: “What is limited government? Is it good or bad for individual liberties?”

The completed scholarship application and essay must be postmarked by April 11 and mailed to: GCRW Scholarship Committee, 1920 W. Maine, Enid, OK 73703. The scholarship winner will be notified in May and invited to a club meeting to meet members and share her essay.
