OKLAHOMA CITY —
Enid High School freshman Laura Schwartz, had the opportunity to see the inner workings of the Oklahoma House of Representatives as an office aide for state Rep. Gus Blackwell from March 18-21.
Laura, 14, is the granddaughter of Blackwell’s legislative assistant, Christi Deal, and the daughter of Louie and Kathy Schwartz of Enid.
Laura’s grandmother said it was not her first experience in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
“Laura had been visiting the Oklahoma House of Representatives her entire life,” Deal said. “Naturally, I enjoyed having her serve this week …very much.”
Office aides arrive at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Monday morning and serve each day, through Thursday.
“With her visit to learn about the legislative process, Laura is eager to learn about policy and government,” said Blackwell, R-Laverne. “I look forward to seeing her again next year.”
