Pioneer Area Quilter’s Guild meets on Monday

ENID, Okla. — Members of the Pioneer Area Quilter’s Guild will meet  Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1904 N. Pecan, Ponca City, for their annual Spring Salad Luncheon.

Hostesses for the luncheon are:  Cheryl Hillman, Patti Howard, Betty Schwanke, Norma Casad,  Karen Yost, Mary Lou Winter and Susan Hill.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 am. Members are asked to bring a dish to serve 10-12 people by 10:45 a.m.

Each dish should have an index card with your name, city and recipe printed on it.

Sherry Muchmore, author of “The Neighborhood Chef” column in the Ponca City News, plans to arrive at 11 a.m. to photograph the dishes, sample the recipes, and choose her favorites for future publication.

Members are reminded to bring the pot holders or tea towels they have made for use as decorations and door prizes for the luncheon meeting.

The May luncheon also is time for members to renew their memberships for the 2014-15 year. New memberships or renewals are $20 for the year.

No stitch and assist session is planned for the May meeting. However, there will be a brief business meeting and a time for show & share.

New PAQG officers elected for the 2014-15 year, and installed at the April meeting include: Judy Wohletz and Chris Nance, co-presidents; Jackie Bufton, vice president; Julia Smith, secretary; Martha Williams, treasurer.

The June meeting and workshop will feature Pam Dinndorf, pattern designer under the name Aardvark Quilts.

Pioneer Area Quilter’s Guild meets the first Monday of each month and guests are always welcome.
