ENID, Okla. —
The city of Enid has scheduled three special meetings to talk about the next budget.
Commissioners will meet May 15, May 17 and May 23 in special meetings. The budget also will be discussed during the commission’s regular meeting May 21.
According to a timeline announced at the commissioner’s meeting Monday, a public hearing on the budget will take place June 4, with approval of the final draft on June 18.
Those benchmarks must be met by a certain time before the fiscal year begins, according to state law.
During the May 15 special meeting, Chief Financial Officer Jerald Gilbert is expected to discuss the general fund, health expenditures, golf, parks, Vance Development Authority, Enid Public Transportation Authority and the city’s sinking fund, which is used to pay debts.
On May 17, commissioners will hear about Enid Municipal Authority, capital projects and Enid Events Center and Convention Hall.
Police and fire funding, special projects, 911 emergency funding and Community Intervention Center will be discussed on May 21.
Two days later, Enid City Commission will hear budget details about Enid Woodring Regional Airport, Enid Economic Development Authority and Community Development Block Grants.
The draft version of the budget Gilbert presented to the city earlier this week showed estimated expenditures topping $174 million.ꆱ
