MEDFORD, Okla. —
Grant County Sheriff Scott Sterling has identified the woman who was found shot to death early Wednesday as 44-year-old Paula Sue George, of Manchester.
Sterling said at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday, Woods County 911 Center paged out Medford EMS and Wakita first responders to a report of a gunshot victim at a residence on Kiowa Road in Grant County.
Medical personnel found a woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound, Sterling said. After an initial investigation, the scene was secured by Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies with assistance from Medford Police Department.
Grant County authorities requested assistance from Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
“Since the initial call, additional information has been received and several leads are being followed,” Sterling said. “Additional interviews have been conducted, as well. New evidence has been collected and submitted to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation forensic lab for analysis.”
The sheriff previously said it was circumstances found at the scene that prompted the call to OSBI. The investigation is ongoing.
