OKLAHOMA CITY —
Enid Mayor Bill Shewey has been appointed to the Oklahoma Municipal League’s board of directors.
Born in Orienta, Shewey graduated from Fairview High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in mathematics and education. He worked at the First National Bank of Tulsa for 14 years until he moved to Enid to join Central National Bank as a senior vice president in 1978. He is semi-retired but still works as senior vice president of correspondent banking at the bank in Enid.
Shewey replaces outgoing District 7 Director Chuck Hall, the mayor of Perry.
The Oklahoma Municipal League is a nonprofit group that represents cities and towns statewide. Its mission is to provide services and programs required by municipal officials to help them better serve their citizens.
