ENID, Okla. —
The agenda will be light when the Enid Public Schools Board of Education meets at 6:30 tonight in the gymnasium at Hoover Elementary School.
One construction-related change order, for work on Monroe Elementary School, will be taken up by the board. The board will consider increasing the contract with Stillwater-based Heritage Construction Co. by $12,500 for additional work on demolition of the courtyard and additional painting, plastering and drywall work.
The resignation of Taft Elementary School Principal Karie Carpenter will be among the personnel transactions the board will consider. Amber Fitzgerald, human resources and communications director for EPS, said Carpenter took a job with a university, which allowed her the opportunity to continue her education.
“Peggy Kenaga, who was assistant principal at Coolidge, has been appointed Taft principal,” Fitzgerald said.
“Vicki Elliott, who was counselor at Garfield, is moving to Coolidge as assistant principal.”
Carpenter’s final day at Taft was Sept. 28. Kenaga worked at Taft throughout Carpenter’s final week and was appointed principal Oct. 1.
In other matters, the board faces a slate of routine fund transfers, fundraiser requests and reviews of policy changes.
