ENID, Okla. —
An Enid woman was transferred to an Oklahoma City hospital Saturday after a two-vehicle accident at 3rd and East Randolph.
According to an Enid Police Department report, a 2008 Dodge, driven by Harley R. Parker, 16, of Enid, was traveling south in the 200 block of South 3rd and did not yield the right-of-way to a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Janet Slaten, 56, of Enid. Her vehicle was traveling east in the 200 block of East Randolph. Parker’s vehicle struck Slaten’s vehicle on in the driver-side door, causing the vehicle to swerve sideways before flipping once and landing on its wheels. Slaten had to be extracted after being pinned about 10 minutes.
Both were taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where Parker was treated and released.
Slaten received severe injuries to her hand, which will require surgery. She was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital. Enid Police Sgt. Brian Hart said Slaten was cited for DUI, but not taken into custody.
