ENID, Okla. —
Besides the April visit from the MobileSmiles van, a large-scale, two-day free dental clinic will take place in Enid in February 2014.
Oklahoma Mission of Mercy is sponsored by the Oklahoma Dental Association and the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Oral Health Foundation.
It is a MASH-style free dental clinic designed to treat the most pressing needs of patients who are uninsured, underinsured or would normally not have access to dental care.
At the event, patients will undergo medical and dental triage to identify their needs and then be routed to the appropriate areas of treatment: oral surgery, extractions, restorations, pediatrics and hygiene.
Since 2010, OkMOM has treated 7,525 patients, equaling $4,156,073 in donated dental services.
The event is expected to treat 2,000 patients over the course of two days. The clinic will be held at Chisholm Trail Expo Center on Feb. 7-8, 2014.
