OBA to present musical

‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’ slated Friday-Sunday

ENID, Okla. — The lively musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” will come to life on the stage at Oklahoma Bible Academy this weekend.

“We have over 65 high school students performing or assisting with this production,” said Robyn Roberts, administrative assistant at OBA.

The musical, set in Oregon in 1850, tells the tale of the Pontipee brothers.

Adam Pontipee goes to town looking for a bride and finds Milly Bradon, who works in a restaurant. Milly quickly learns she is expected to take care of Adam’s six unkempt brothers.

The solution, Milly decides, is to marry the brothers off — but of course, they must be taught the finer points of courtship.

Unfortunately, this isn’t as easy as Milly believes it will be. At the town social, a brawl takes place and the brothers are banished from town. It takes a while for everything to finally work out, but in the end, the seven brothers have seven brides.

Crystal Sawicki plays Milly Bradon and Chris Walker plays Adam Pontipee.

Brides are played by Kate Anderson, Kassadi Cronkhite, Natalie Rapp, Addi Shamburg, Brooklyn Wiens and Alora Yarbrough.

Adam’s brothers are played by Alex Anton, Joel DeSecottier, Adam Eaton, Grayson Feist, Randall Nesom and Tanner Roberts.

Suitors are played by Preston Atwood, Kristian Stitt, Merritt Suenram, Jonny Volpe, Dylan White and Blaine Whitson.

Supporting cast members include Brendon Arnold, Ashley Atwood, Baylor Boyd, Bailey Bussell, Madison Camp, Molly Cannon, Jessica Carpenter, John Cassanova, Elisha Coffin, Erin Coffin, Garrett Craig, Drew Dodd, Doug Fain, Caden Hawley, Virgil Irwin, Tara Kelly, Kendra Kroeker, Amanda Lamunyon, Jesse Long, Keeley McCullough, Bryce Mendenhall, Jon Messenger, Wyatt Morrow, Colby Nelson, Taylor Paul, Hillary Patocka, Madison Price, Savannah Price, Camden Roggow, Hope Shreve, Blaine Spencer, Bre Stribel, Jenna Thomason, Ryan Turpin, Kate Wegener, Milton Yarbrough, Caleb Yape and Anna Zander.
