WAUKOMIS, Okla. —
A squirrel knocked out power Thursday morning to several hundred OG&E Electric Services customers in the Waukomis area.
John Little, OG&E district manager, said the squirrel got into the Waukomis substation at about 11 a.m. and “took down a couple of circuits,” affecting 800 people.
Most of the customers had power back by 11:45 a.m., but another problem took out power to other customers, Little said. A conductor burned down, and OG&E workers had to fix the problem, Little said. He did not know if the two issues were related. Power was restored at about 2:30 p.m., Little said. Another issue Thursday night knocked out power to 200 customers in the area at 6:30 p.m.
