3 quakes reported in NW Oklahoma

ENID, Okla. — Three earthquakes were recorded Friday in northwest Oklahoma.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 3.3 quake was recorded about 6:17 a.m. 11 miles north northeast of Enid, at a depth of about 1 mile.

The second quake, a 2.8 magnitude, was recorded 14 miles west of Perry, about 8:11 a.m.

It was recorded at a depth of about 3.1 miles.

A third quake was recorded at 3:02 p.m., a 2.5 magnitude 9 miles south of Medford.

This quake was recorded at a depth of 3.3 miles.

Earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are general the smallest felt by humans, according to geologists.

Damage doesn’t usually occur with earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
