UPDATE: Inmate recaptured after escape in Custer Co.

WARR ACRES, Okla. — Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped from the Custer County jail over the weekend.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office says Nicholas Todd Van Brunt escaped from the county jail in Arapaho on Sunday while on trusty status. Authorities say Van Brunt was captured Monday morning in Warr Acres.

Authorities believe that Van Brunt stole a vehicle while taking out the trash at the Custer County jail. He was later spotted at a Wal-Mart in Weatherford, and a vehicle was reported stolen from the store's parking lot.

Van Brunt had been jailed on a grand larceny charge. Custer County authorities says he'll now face additional charges of escape and auto theft.
