Police: Woman arrested on assault complaint

ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department arrested a 36-year-old woman on a complaint of assault and battery with a deadly weapon Friday afternoon.

Capt. Jack Morris said officers responded to a 4:12 p.m. call reporting a woman being chased by another woman with a knife in the parking lot of Iron Works, 1602 N. Van Buren.

Officers arrived and determined it was a domestic-related incident, Morris said, and placed Barbara Grimm under arrest on a complaint on assault and battery with a deadly weapon, malicious injury to property, public intoxication, attempted escape, resisting arrest and two unrelated warrants.

Morris said another woman in her 30s and her teenage daughter were present during the incident.

He said Grimm took a knife to the inside of the other woman’s car and also attempted to remove her handcuffs and exit a police vehicle after being placed in custody.
