Red Dirt Run of Honor
7 a.m. Saturday
Enid Woodring Regional Airport
Put on your running shoes and join people from across the region as they run to remember those who have given their lives for our country.
The Red Dirt Run of Honor is a 5K/half-marathon held at Enid Woodring Regional Airport, located east of Enid. The airport also is the location of the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park. The wall is a tribute to past, present and future veterans of the United States military. A section of the wall honors Oklahoma’s fallen heroes.
This Saturday’s run will be held at 7 a.m. Participants may run either a 5K, which is about 3.1 miles, or a half-marathon, about 13.1 miles.
Online registration is closed, but you can still register at Wheat Capitol Running Co., 102 W. Randolph, or at Woodring, the morning of the race. Cost is $30 for the 5K and $75 for the half-marathon. Registration the morning of the race will begin at 6 a.m.
Awards will be handed out at the end of the race, and a breakfast/brunch will be available following the race, as well.
Money raised from the event will go toward the Woodring Wall of Honor Vietnam Memorial Wall and Educational Center.

Hoover Park and Champion Park
As temperatures climb, it’s time to start thinking about some water fun for the kids. What better way to cool off than at one of the two local splash pads?
One is located at Hoover Park, between Cleveland and Hoover on Oklahoma, and the other is at Champion Park, at the corner of 10th and Chestnut.
