ENID, Okla. — The all-new Sesame Street Live “Can’t Stop Singing” will perform at Enid Event Center Dec. 17-18, according to a press release from the city of Enid Thursday.
Sesame Street characters including Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Murray and more favorites bring the magic of music to life on the stage and into the audience. Other characters performing include Grover, Baby Bear, Cookie Monster and Bert and Ernie
"When Elmo gets his furry fingers on Abby Cadabby’s magic wand, there’s something in the air — and Sesame Street becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage!" according to the press release's synopsis of the show.
“Adults will appreciate the high-tech stagecraft, cleverly written script, music they’ll recognize and enjoy sharing with children, such as fun new parodies of “Shout” and “You Can’t Stop the Music,” said Keller Taylor, general manager of Enid Event Center and Convention Hall for Global Spectrum.
Elmo's learning experience becomes entertainment for the family.
Show times are 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 17, 2013, and 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. Ticket prices start at $20, with a limited number of $32 Gold Circle seats and $52 Sunny Seats also available. Sunny Seats feature VIP seats and a meet-and-greet with two “Sesame Street Live” friends.
Enid Event Center is the centerpiece of the city’s Enid Renaissance Project. Brick and mortar costs for construction of Enid Event Center and renovation of Convention Hall were $24.5 million, but equipping the buildings, creating Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant parking lots and other costs have brought the total price to more than $40 million.
The center is slated to open during the month of June, with a Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony June 15, 2013, a Gary Allan concert June 23, 2013, and a Cirque Musica performance on June 27, 2013. A BMX team performance is set Aug. 17, 2013.
