The Hillsdale Bible Church Ladies Missionary Ministry held their monthly meeting April 9. Jenifer Lloyd was the guest speaker. Nancy Hayes, Sue Hoffsommer and Alvina Kliewer served as hostesses for lunch.
Penny Watkins, president of the Parent-Teacher Fellowship at Hillsdale Christian School, conducted the final meeting of the school year April 9. Jeri Carpenter gave the devotion. After reports from committee chairs and discussion of old business, fundraising ideas were suggested. Jeff Hoffsommer gave a report from the school board.
A new slate of officers was elected for the 2013-14 school year: Penny Watkins, president; Amy Voth, vice president; and Jenifer Lloyd, secretary. The meeting was adjourned with prayer and refreshments were served.
Emily Buller’s HCS first- through sixth-grade P.E. classes participated in the Pond Creek Hunter track meet April 29. Hillsdale Christian School students learned three songs in Spanish from the Oklahoma Bible Academy Spanish Club at Chapel on Wednesday. After Chapel, the Spanish Club visited each classroom to read, sing and play games with the students. Brent McCoy, youth minister at Ponca City Baptist Church, was the guest speaker for Chapel.
Bobby Tennell’s HCS sixth-grade class took a trip to Oklahoma City on April 26. Activities for the day included breakfast at Wee Too, Quail Springs Mall, lunch at Taco Cabana, Elevation Trampoline Park, dinner at Zio’s in Bricktown, and an Oklahoma City Redhawks baseball game.
Carol Perry’s HCS first-grade class and Gretchen Streck’s second-grade class took a field trip to Simpson’s Old Time Museum and Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse on April 26.
Sally Stevens’ HCS third- and fourth-grade classes took their spring field trip to Orr Family Farm on April 26.
