ENID, Okla. — Monster Energy Drink BMX Team will be in Enid this summer performing at Enid Event Center.

The Event Center teamed with Enid Noon AMBUCS, Enid AM AMBUCS and Monster Energy Drink to bring the Monster Energy Drink BMX Team to Enid for performances in conjunction with the eighth annual Tour de Trykes and Twilight Criterium.

Free performances will be 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, inside Enid Event Center. Tour de Trykes begins that day at 7 a.m., and the Twilight Criterium bike races throughout downtown beginning at 5 p.m.

Enid Event Center general manager Keller Taylor said bringing the team to Enid is a natural fit for bicycle enthusiasts and for those who may be curious about starting the sport of cycling.

Taylor added it was a great opportunity to highlight the new Event Center – scheduled to open June 12 – by tying in with the BMX team on a day where cyclists and bicycle fans alike will already be in Enid.

In addition to its BMX team, Monster Energy sponsors eight other action sports and 23 motor sports and participates in a variety of events worldwide.

Tour de Trykes and the Twilight Criterium are hosted by the Enid Noon AMBUCS club. AMBUCS is a non-profit service organization whose goal is to create mobility and independence for people with disabilities. There are more than 5,500 AMBUCS members in over 130 clubs nationwide, including five AMBUCS clubs in Enid.
