Enid churches plan Easter events

ENID, Okla. — Special events are planned by Enid churches to celebrate Easter.

Global Spectrum and Enid Event Center and Convention Hall will host Emmanuel Baptist Church

“The Easter Event” is a community Easter celebration sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church at Enid Event Center.

It will be 10 a.m. Sunday and will blend contemporary and modern music.

“Join thousands of people from throughout northwest Oklahoma as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and hear from people whose lives have been transformed by His amazing grace,” said Wade Burleson, lead pastor at Emmanuel. “The music, the testimonies and the entire atmosphere of the Easter Event will be unforgettable as we honor the greatest event in the history of our world. The Easter Event is free and open to the public. There will not be a better way to celebrate Easter than to attend the Easter Event at Enid Event Center.”

“We are excited about this partnership with Emmanuel Enid for hosting their Easter Event in the Enid Event Center,” said Global Spectrum’s Keller Taylor, general manager of Enid Event Center and Convention Hall. “This will be a day filed with joy and fellowship with friends and family surrounding the Easter Event service.”

World Harvest Church is hosting “PurpleEaster,” an area-wide celebration of Easter at 10 a.m. Sunday in the Enid High School auditorium. It is free to the public.

PurpleEASTER is not a traditional Easter service people will remember, organizers said. It will be an event on another level encompassing the entire Enid community.

First Baptist Church, 401 W. Maine, will present “The Easter Story,” a music and drama production Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s performance will be 7 p.m., while there will be two Sunday performances — at 8:15 and 10:50 a.m.
