Audit finds no fault with airport project

ENID, Okla. — An audit into an airport project partly funded by the city of Enid found no irregularities.

Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones released the brief report a week ago. In it, he stated the audit was at the request of the management of Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, which paid for almost 70 percent of the $649,706 project.

The project reconstructed portions of an existing concrete taxiway and aprons at Enid Woodring Regional Airport that have had multiple pavement failures, Jones said.

“The objective of the audit was to determine whether expenditures paid to the city of Enid were in accordance with (the) airport construction agreement,” the audit report states.

The city of Enid paid $204,706 toward the project.

Jones’ audit “indicated that costs paid to the city of Enid by the OAC appeared to be in accordance with the Program Narrative and the Project Costs” portion of the contract between the two entities.
