Quilt and handiwork show set for April 27

The annual quilt and handwork show will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 in the Women’s Building at Noble County Fairgrounds in Perry.

The show is sponsored by Noble County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Center, Home & Community Education groups and local quilting groups.

Quilts that are newly made, antique or modern, hand-sewn or machine-quilted will be displayed. Crafts made from old quilts, stuffed animals and pillows, as well as from needle work, tatting, crocheted and knitting, also will be on display.

Several door prizes will be given out, including a homemade bear made from quilts that are 60 years old.

Vendors will have booths inside the Women’s Building.

To participate, brings items to the Women’s Building 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26. Each item must have an entry form attached and a release form signed. Include a history on each item, if possible. Entry and information forms are available at the extension office in the Noble County Courthouse in Perry, or at oces.okstate.edu@yahoo.com. Registration also will be available at the door April 27.

The tea room will be open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menu will include chicken salad served on croissants or quiche, accompanied by strawberry-romaine salad topped with raspberry poppyseed dressing. Desserts include homemade carrot, Italian cream or red velvet cake, along with a variety of hot or cold teas. Proceeds from the Tea Room will go to Noble County Relay for Life.
