Enid man dies in Kaw Lake accident

— An Enid man died Friday afternoon in an accident at Kaw Lake.

Billy Joe Ging, 70, died in 5 feet of water, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. The accident happened at 3:15 p.m. Friday, 150 yards west and 200 yards south of Bear Creek Cove.

According to the report, Ging was in a boat going to tow his grandson’s boat back to shore when it capsized for an unknown reason. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office has not determined a cause of death, according to the report.

A personal flotation vest was found wrapped around Ging’s right arm, according to the report.
