Evans’ NOC contract extended

ENID, Okla. — Cheryl Evans’ contract as president of Northern Oklahoma College was extended at the June meeting of the NOC Board of Regents.

Enid resident Lynn Smith, long a member of the NOC Board of Regents, was voted chair of the board. Smith previously was vice chair.

Mild tuition hikes are coming for NOC students.

Bill Johnson, public affairs officer for NOC, said in-state Enid students will pay about $152 more over a school year because of the increase.

“Total resident tuition and mandatory fees for fiscal year 2013 was $91.60 per credit hour, and with the increase, it goes to $96.65 per credit hour,” Johnson said. “The total increase for 30 hours over a year is $151.50.”

Non-resident tuition and fees were $231.25 per credit hour last school year, and for this year are $244.30, Johnson said.

That is a 5.5 percent increase for Oklahoma residents and a 5.6 percent increase for out-of-state residents.

Enrollment numbers for summer classes took a slight drop. But early enrollment for fall classes notched up.

Summer enrollment is 1,365, compared to 1,420 last summer. Fall enrollment as of June 12 is 3,021 compared to 3,001 on June 12, 2012. The fall semester begins Aug. 19.
