ENID, Okla. —
As required by law, Enid Police Department is notifying the public about an aggravated sex offender who has moved in Enid.
EPD was notified by Oklahoma Department of Corrections that Jeremy Wayne Arnold has been classified as an aggravated sex offender. Whenever a sex offender classified as aggravated or habitual moves into a residence the police department of that jurisdiction is required by state statute to notify residents of that neighborhood.
There are eight possible offenses that can require a person be classified as an aggravated sex offender, if they were convicted after Nov. 1, 1999. Habitual offenders are those offenders convicted of two or more sex crimes after Nov. 1, 1997, or those previously convicted with another sex offense conviction after Nov. 1, 1997.
Arnold was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child Jan. 23, 2002, in Henderson, Texas. This crime translates to second-degree rape in Oklahoma.
Arnold is not wanted for any crimes and he has registered as a sex offender with Enid Police Department.
Arnold is a white male, 33, is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 230 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is residing at 2901 S. Van Buren No. 144, in Enid, but will be required to move.
