ENID, Okla. —
A car show designed to show support for Enid Speedway begins at noon today, according to Terri Fletchall, an event organizer.
More than 30 cars have signed up for Keeping Enid Kicking car show, and more can join the show today, Fletchall said. Entries include race cars, mud trucks, motorcycles, rock crawlers and hot rods.
Everything is free but the food, which will be provided by BBQ Joint of Pond Creek.
Activities will include a dunk tank, monster truck rides by Sudden Death, a car bash, motorcycle games and Enid Game Shack video game trailer.
Jake Bowers Band will perform.
Fletchall said the event was planned to show potential Speedway sponsors that support for the racing venue exists in strength in Enid. Justin Bingham, an Army veteran who is interested in operating the Speedway, will be in attendance. Fletchall said they hope to hear by May 29 whether there will be enough sponsorship to open for the season.
Fletchall said a lot of drivers who want to compete live in Enid and the surrounding area.
