Canton woman is hurt in crash

A Canton woman was hospitalized after being injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning.

Kathleen Meat, 24, was admitted in stable condition to Okeene Hospital with trunk and leg injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened at 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Oklahoma 51 and Oklahoma 51A in Blaine County.

According to the report, Meat was driving a 2005 Nissan Marano east on Oklahoma 51 when she was hit by a 1996 Chevy pickup driven by Carl Denton, 54, of Longdale. Denton was driving south on Oklahoma 51A and failed to yield, according to the report.

Two passengers in Meat’s vehicle were treated at Okeene Hospital and released. Denton was not injured.

Seat belts were in use in both vehicles, according to the report.
