ENID, Okla. —
The Enid RadioShack will move from Oakwood Mall to Neilson Square, although all details are not yet known, said RadioShack District Manager Ken Harvey of Tulsa.
Harvey said due to some recent store realignments, he did not find out about the move until recently and did not know all of the details. He did confirm the store will move into Neilson Square on West Garriott.
“We’re still operating as usual with customers day to day. The relocation will be going through the process,” Harvey said.
He did not know the type of store, whether the current merchandise would be transferred, or whether new merchandise will be installed. The current store in Oakwood Mall will be fully functional until a couple of days before the move, he said.
“We will continue to take care of our customers,” he said.
Harvey said the lease was signed on the new building in July, and he expects to know more about the move within a week to a week and a half.
“We’re coming out with new-concept stores, and I don’t know what type of store, but it will be a lot newer than we currently have,” he said. “Our goal at RadioShack is to keep our current customers, but also draw the attention of the new age and younger crowd,” Harvey said.
In an email, company spokeswoman Kylie Wellman said the store was anticipated to open in mid-November in its new location.
