No injuries in Sunday fire

ENID, Okla. — A downtown commercial business building was damaged by fire at about 1 p.m. Sunday.

According to an Enid Fire Department report, the building is a two-story structure at 502 E. Broadway. A thrift store occupies the first floor, and the second floor is unoccupied.

Fire Marshal Ken Helms said the fire started on the second floor and extended into the attic. Firefighters tore out an extensive amount of ceiling to get to it. No one was present when the fire broke out, and there were no injuries.

Firefighters remained on the scene Sunday afternoon, and the fire’s cause is under investigation.
