Cause still undetermined in recent EagleMed crash

No cause was listed in a preliminary report by National Transportation Safety Board on the fatal crash of an EagleMed helicopter last month near Kingfisher.

According to the report, released Friday, a witness saw the helicopter in trouble.

“A witness observed the helicopter as it was flying through a sparse tree line,” according to the report. “He described the helicopter in a nose-high attitude with a rotational movement around the tail boom section. The tree line obscured his vision of the crash sequence.”

The crash July 22 killed pilot Al Harrison and nurse Ryan Duke. EMT Michael Eccard was seriously injured and was released Aug. 4 from OU Medical Center.

The helicopter was on its way from Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma to Okeene when it crashed.
