Cherokee school bond issue approved by voters

ENID, Okla. — Cherokee Public School patrons approved a $4.5 million construction bond issue Tuesday.

The vote was 308-103, or 74.9 percent in favor.

The bond issue would fund:

• $1.44 million in projects at the track and football complex. The money would pay for a new track and work on the football field, including new lights, among other items.

• $830,000 for work at the baseball and softball complex.

• $775,000 for improvements at the elementary school, including new paint, new flooring, extended driving lanes, additional parking and renovations to the library and gym.

•  425,000 for improvements to the high school auditorium.

• $200,000 for improvements to the vocational/agriculture building.
