Teens arrested for burglaries

ENID, Okla. — Two teens classified as runaways were arrested Tuesday in connection with several burglaries.

Officer Robert Fleer spoke with a 16-year-old girl outside of Enid Floral and Gifts and learned she had been reported as a runaway.

The teen had some property in her possession, including a tablet, Capt. Jack Morris said. A name was found on the tablet, and police were able to make contact with the person who owned the tablet.

The person then went home and found their home had been burglarized and some property taken.

During his investigation, Fleer learned the girl had been with a 14-year-old male, who also was reported as a runaway.

The girl admitted to Fleer she and the other teen had been involved in a few burglaries.

Morris said the teens were connected to burglaries reported in the 1400 block of South Jefferson, 400 block of West Illinois and 1300 block of South Adams.

Morris said police recovered some items that had been reported stolen in connection with those three burglaries.

The girl was arrested on complaints of second-degree burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession of tobacco. The boy was arrested on a complaint of second-degree burglary.
