Rue21 will open Thursday

ENID, Okla. — Fashion retailer rue21 will open its new Enid store Thursday, the 1,000th store in the United States for the chain.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be 10 a.m. at the store in Enid Crossing shopping center, at the corner of Garriott and Oakwood, said Steve Kime, spokesman for the city of Enid.

“The word ‘rue’ comes from the French word for ‘street’ while ‘21’ embodies the age that everyone wants to be,” said Kelly Evanovich, rue21 marketing manager. “Inspired by the spirit and style of one of the best times in life, our store is designed for those looking for fashion that’s modern, trendy and affordable.”

At least seven senior officials in the company will be on hand at the grand opening, Kime said.

Rue21 is headquartered just north of Pittsburgh and has stores in 47 states. The store sells clothing for women’s and men’s clothing and accessories.
