ENID, Okla. —
Leonardo’s Children’s Museum will have a volunteer workday at Adventure Quest noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Adventure Quest will be closed to the public so the work can be completed safely.
“We are so grateful for our volunteers,” said Julie Baird, Leonardo’s executive director. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without them. In exchange for hours of service, we offer volunteers the option to earn free elementary art or science classes for a teacher or classroom of their choice.”
The workday will concentrate on the completion of wood staining at Adventure Quest. Volunteers should bring work gloves and wear clothing they don’t mind getting a little messy. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. During registration, volunteers can designate, if they wish, to donate their hours to a specific class/teacher to help earn a free art or science class.
A combined 12 hours of volunteer work is required for each free class donated by Leonardo’s. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.
If the weather does not cooperate for the workday, Leonardo’s has scheduled the makeup date for Nov. 17.
