NODA Area Agency on Aging meeting set Thursday

Want to make a difference in the lives of older Northern Oklahomans? Want to help NODA Area Agency on Aging (AAA) determine how to best meet the needs of older Oklahomans?

If the answer is yes, plan to attend the public hearing 9 a.m. Thursday in the Pond Creek Library.

NODA AAA will hold the meeting to update its area plan for the eight counties it serves: Alfalfa, Blaine, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, Major and Noble.

The hearing is an opportunity for you to provide input on services for older Oklahomans. AAA urges everyone, young and old, to attend this public hearing and to give written or oral comments. Suggestions, ideas and comments will be used in updating the area plan.

NODA AAA currently provides a variety of services, including long-term care ombudsman, information and assistance, Silver Dollar transportation, caregiver support, health promotion, legal assistance, congregate meals and home-delivered meals, nutrition education and counseling and outreach services.

Organizations, agencies or individuals who cannot attend but wish to comment may send a statement by March 29 to NODA Area Agency on Aging at 2901 N. Van Buren, Enid, OK 73703.

All facilities are accessible to people with disabilities, and interpreter services will be made available upon request by call (580) 237-2236 or (800) 211-2116 at least three days prior to the hearing dates.

The area plan sets goals and objectives for determining priority needs of the older Oklahomans and for completing the requirements of the Older Americans Act.
