Garfield County Genealogists to meet
Garfield County Genealogists will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Great Plains Room, second floor of the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County.
The program will be presented by Beverly Evans on “The Indian-Pioneer Papers of Oklahoma.”
These were interviews obtained by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s, giving a glimpse of life in the state’s early pioneer days.
Oklahoma is the only state that has such a collection. Visitors are welcome.
Republican women, men meet today
Republican women and men will meet at 11:30 a.m. today for their monthly meeting at the YWCA, 525 S. Quincy.
The program will be presented by Kim Blankenship, YWCA executive director. Members are encouraged to bring items for the YWCA Crisis Center.
Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting and may make lunch reservations by calling 233-8715.

Billings Rotary Club elects officers
Billings Rotary Club members elected officers for the 2013-14 year at their Dec. 11 meeting.
Elected were: John Schatz, president; Ann Denney, vice president; Consuela Maly, secretary-treasurer; and Candy Oller, reporter. New officers will be installed and begin their terms in July.
The next regular meeting will be Tuesday.

Parts of Maine will be closed
Maine will be closed from 2nd to 4th will be closed again next week for repairs to the railroad tracks.
That portion of Maine will be closed Monday through Thursday, according to the city of Enid.
