ENID, Okla. —
Renovations to McKinley and Eisenhower elementary schools as well as Lincoln Academy soon will be under way after members of the Enid Public Schools Board of Education review bids and choose contractors for the work during this evening’s meeting.
The board will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. at the Central Office, 500 S. Independence. It will review bids on the McKinley project, opened last week by Easley Associates, the architect for the project, and the Eisenhower and Lincoln projects, opened by the Stacy Group, the architect for those projects.
Besides hiring contractors for three new school renovation projects, board members will consider adding $4,025 to the contract with Dreamscapes LLC for landscaping work at Waller Middle School. The proposal is to add 221 feet of pipe sleeve beneath existing campus sidewalks and driveways.
Enid High School basketball likely will have a new home after this evening’s meeting. Board members will consider signing a memorandum of understanding with the city of Enid to use Enid Event Center and Convention Hall for basketball games and other events. If the board approves the $32,000 contract, tickets will be sold through the Event Center’s exclusive ticketing provider, New Era Tickets.
Basketball games were held at the former Convention Hall until two years ago, when it was closed. Games have been held the last two years at the Mabee Center on the Northern Oklahoma College Enid campus.
Board members also will review and discuss the independent audit report for fiscal year 2012.
In other matters, the board will consider routine fund encumbrances, consider signing a contract with the Chas. W. Carroll Accounting Firm for independent audit of fiscal year 2012-13, and review and consider approving the district’s financial report.
