Tryke races to be held Friday

ENID, Okla. — Enid Noon AMBUCS will put on a show Friday at Main Street Enid’s First Friday downtown.

Members of the organization will be doing Tryke races as a kickoff to one of AMBUCS’ largest events, Tour de Trykes and Twilight Criterium, which takes place Aug. 17 downtown Enid.

The Tryke races will be held on Randolph across from The Bike Shop and Jackson Jewelers. The races start at 7 p.m., and the teams are comprised of AMBUCS members. There also will be a chance to win a free Tour de Trykes and Twilight Criterium registration.

“This will be a fun event for us to participate in Main Street Enid’s First Friday as well as kick off Tour de Trykes,” said Shala Miller, race organizer. “We will have information available for anyone interested in joining AMBUCS. It is a great organization to be a part of, and we enjoy supporting our community through entertaining events like this.”

AMBUCS stands for the American Business Clubs and it promotes projects that emphasize mobility for people with mobility issues. The organization’s main project is AmTrykes, tricycles specially adapted to allow those with mobility issues the ability to ride more easily. Another main project for AMBUCS is the Miracle League Ball Park. The Miracle League is a collaborative effort of Enid Noon AMBUCS and 4RKids and gives special needs children and adults the opportunity to play in summer T-ball games.
