Tipsy Tow offered on St. Patrick’s

ENID, Okla. — AAA Oklahoma is offering its free Tipsy Tow service for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

“According to 2011 data provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 34 percent of all traffic fatalities on St. Patrick’s Day that year involved alcohol,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “There are just too many alternatives to rolling the dice and climbing behind the wheel after drinking — call a cab, use a designated driver or call AAA for a free Tipsy Tow.”

AAA’s popular Tipsy Tow service is offered for St. Patty’s, running from 6 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Tuesday in Enid, as well as Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Ardmore, Bartlesville, Lawton, Muskogee, Shawnee and Tahlequah.

“St. Patrick’s Day is on a Monday this year, so people may be inclined to celebrate throughout the holiday weekend,” said Mai. “They need to have a transportation plan in mind before taking that first drink.”

To access AAA’s Tipsy Tow service, call (800) 222-4357 (AAA-HELP) and ask for Tipsy Tow. The service is offered, no questions asked, to both AAA members and non-members. AAA will give you, up to one more person and your car a free ride home within a 15-mile radius from the point of pick-up, anytime during the 34-hour period.
