ENID, Okla. —
Enid Public Schools Board of Education members are scheduled to sit for two meetings at different locations Monday evening — a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office, followed by an executive session in the boardroom of Wymer Brownlee, 201 N. Grand, to begin interviewing candidates for superintendent.
Shawn Hime, superintendent since 2008, begins new duties as executive director of Oklahoma State School Board Association on April 1. The board’s plan is to select the next superintendent no later than May.
Amber Fitzgerald, human resources and communications director for EPS, said the board plans to meet with candidates several times this week.
“The board will reconvene multiple times as interviews can be scheduled,” Fitzgerald said. “Notice of the meetings will be posted as usual.”
During this evening’s regular meeting, the board will consider a number of routine transfers between funds and encumbrances of funds, along with proposals for fundraisers.
They then will decide whether to sign a contract with Chas. W. Carroll, P.A., for an independent audit of the district for fiscal year 2013-2014.
An executive session during the regular meeting will be held to consider a number of personnel issues.
The next regular meeting of the school board is scheduled for April 21.
