Enid News & Eagle
As required by law, Enid Police Department is notifying the public about an aggravated sex offender who has moved in Enid.
EPD was notified by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections that Nathan Robert Bowen has been classified as an aggravated sex offender. Whenever a sex offender — classified as aggravated or habitual — moves into a residence, the police department of that jurisdiction is required by state statute to notify residents of that neighborhood.
There are eight possible offenses that can require a person be classified as an aggravated sex offender, if they were convicted after Nov. 1, 1999. Habitual offenders are those offenders convicted of two or more sex crimes after Nov. 1, 1997, or those previously convicted with another sex offense conviction after Nov. 1, 1997.
Bowen was convicted of lewd or indecent acts/proposals to a child on March 1, 2012, in Garfield County.
Bowen is not wanted for any crimes and he has registered as a sex offender with the Enid Police Department.
Bowen is a white male, 34 years old, is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 138 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. He currently is residing at 309 E. Hickory.
