ENID, Okla. —
An 80-year-old Perry man was killed Sunday in a head-on collision with a semi 21⁄2 miles east of Perry.
Gene Davidson died at the scene of the collision at 4:58 p.m. of U.S. 64 from massive injuries, Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Davidson was westbound on U.S. 64 in a 2010 Ford F150 when his vehicle went left of center for an unknown reason, according to an OHP report. Davidson’s vehicle then struck a 2012 Kenworth semi that was traveling eastbound, pinning Davidson for an hour and a half.
The driver of the semi, James Carlson, 65, of Texas, was treated at the scene with a minor injury to his hand.
The report lists Davidson’s condition at the time of the collision as “apparently normal.” Both men involved in the collision were wearing their seat belts.
