ENID, Okla. —
Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park will host a ceremony Saturday to remember the fallen of Iraq and Afghanistan and veterans of all service branches.
Part of the annual Wreaths Across America Day, the ceremony will be 11 a.m. at Woodring Wall of Honor.
Six ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember all soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who served, honor their sacrifices and teach the next generations about the high cost of freedom.
Mark Irwin, retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and Wall of Honor board member, will be the keynote speaker.
Specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard/Merchant Marines and POW/MIA will be placed at the base of each flag in the park during a ceremony that will be coordinated simultaneously at more than 750 participating locations all across the country.
One additional wreath will be placed in Enid Cemetery for all veterans.
More than 120 wreaths are slated for delivery to the Wall of Honor and will be placed in honor of each of the fallen of Oklahoma since the dedication of the park.
