Former Garfield County jailer sentenced to serve three years in prison

ENID, Okla. — A former Garfield County jailer charged with sexual battery and bringing contraband into the jail last year was sentenced to serve three years in prison this week.

Krystal Dawn Davidson, 34, was sentenced Tuesday to three years in Department of Corrections custody, followed by two years probation after her release.

Davidson was charged Oct. 12, 2012, with one count of second-degree rape, or in the alternative, a count of sexual battery, sexual battery and two counts of bringing contraband — cellphones and tobacco — into a jail.

She pleaded guilty June 11 to the alternative count of sexual battery and one count of bringing contraband, a cellphone, into the jail. In turn, a count of sexual battery and the other contraband charges were dropped, as was a misdemeanor charge of squatting. Davidson was charged with that  in January after visiting the jail after being banned.

Davidson will receive credit for time served and was ordered to pay court costs, $80 jail costs, $100 to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund and a $150 DNA fee.

Davidson also will have to follow the special rules and conditions for sex offenders upon her release.

Davidson, Staci Nicole Guffey and Kevina Guadalupe Abercrombie were charged Oct. 12, 2012, following an investigation at the jail.

Guffey, 20, pleaded no contest April 18 to an amended charge of conspiracy to commit a felony, originally filed as sexual battery. She also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of bringing contraband — tobacco and a cellphone — into the jail.

She was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and serve a 10-year deferred sentence on the felony charge, pay a $250 fine, court and jail costs. Guffey also received deferred sentences and fines on the contraband charges.

Abercrombie, 30, also charged with a count of sexual battery and two counts of bringing contraband into a jail, is set for a court appearance Wednesday.
